Lenovo Create Smarter Campaign

This competition will be hosted on the influencer pages with the influencers that we have contracted for this campaign. Influencers are Thato RampediJsomething and George Mnguni

Each influencer will host a separate competition dedicated solely to their individual channels.

Thato Rampedi: #WorkSmarter

Prize: Lenovo Device, customised exclusive merchandise and day-in-the-life with Thato

Entry mechanics:

  1. Influencer posts competition post on Instagram.
  2. Followers submit their entries using the #CreateSmarter.
  3. Followers comment with their best #WorkSmarter tips. Entries must include the hashtag #CreateSmarter and tag @Lenovo_Africa in order to be eligible to win.
  4. Individuals may also enter the competition via the entry form on experiencesmarter.co.za
  5. Influencer chooses their top 3 comments and chooses a main winner
  6. Winners will be contacted via Instagram messenger.

Jsomething: #CookSmarter

Prize: Winner will win a dining experience where J-Something will cook for up to 6 people. This will include a live performance by Jsomething. Lenovo Winner will also win a Lenovo device.
Lenovo device to the value of R18500 ex VAT.
Cooking experience with Jsomething up to the value of R45000 ex VAT

Entry mechanics:

  1. Every week Jsomething will be #CookingSmarter and challenging his followers to share their #CookSmarter meals.
  2. Followers must post their comments on Instagram and tell us how winning the Lenovo device would help them #CreateSmarter/ #LiveSmarter. Entries must include the hashtag #CreateSmarter and tag @Lenovo_Africa in order to be eligible to win.
  3. Individuals may also enter the competition via the entry form on experiencesmarter.co.za
  4. Jsomething will choose the top comment.
  5. Winners will be contacted via Instagram messenger.

Competition Dates:

Competition Launch 21 May 2021.
Competition entries close 17 June 2021.
Winner announcement 18 June 2021.

George: #PlaySmarter

Prize: Winner will win Legion device, gaming chair and accessories to the value of R31 750 ex VAT

Entry mechanics:

  1. George to launch Game Nights with Legion where his followers join him to game using a unique code so they are all playing together.
  2. To be eligible for the competition entrants must comment how Lenovo will help them #PlaySmarter and tag @Lenovo_africa in their comments
  3. Winners will be contacted via Instagram messenger.

Competition Dates:

Competition Launch Mid June 2021.
Competition entries close 25 June 2021.
Winner announcement 30 June 2021.

Data Usage

  1. Participants agree that their Name and Instagram Handle will be used for marketing purpose more specifically for the competition, to communicate with the winner in order to hand over their prize as well as to announce the winner on social platform Instagram.
  2. Winners will be contacted via Instagram messenger. Winners will need to provide Name, surname, contact number, email and delivery address for prize to be delivered.
  3. Winners will have 24 hours to respond and if we do not get a response, we will move on to the 2nd in line for the prize, they will then have 24 hours to respond.
  4. Data will only be used for delivery of prize to the winner.
  5. Data will be deleted by 31 December 2022.
  6. If COVID 19 prohibits this event from taking place on stipulated date. We will have no other option but to reschedule at a date when it is safe for participants and hosts to do so. 
  7. Prize will still be awarded to the winner however event date will be confirmed at a later stage.

Terms and Conditions

  1. This competition is open to citizens residing in South Africa only.
  2. All entrants are to follow and adhere to all entry guidelines outlines above.
  3. Only entries captured between 1 June 2021 and 25 June 2021 00:00 will be applicable.
  4. Lenovo reserves the right to remove and disqualify any offensive, rude or demeaning entries or
  5. Lenovo reserves the right to alter the offer and to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time
    without prior notice.
  6. Participants participate at their own risk and take responsibility for all their activity on Instagram.
  7. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current data protection legislation applicable in your country of residence and in the country where the data controller is located.
  8. Lenovo’s Privacy Policy applies to this experience and to all information that we receive from your submission. Please note that by accepting these Terms and Conditions you are also accepting the terms of the Privacy Policy.
  9. Lenovo reserves the right to extend, reasonably shorten, suspend the time period of the experience terminate the experience whenever it should so choose for technical, commercial, or operational reasons, or for reasons beyond its control or generally for any reason whatsoever within their sole discretion. The experience and terms and conditions may be amended by Lenovo, at any time during the experience, and will be applied and interpreted within their sole discretion. In such an event, all Participants waive any rights that they may have/purport to have in terms of this experience, and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Lenovo whatsoever.
  10. All publicity and other materials will be the sole property of Lenovo.
  11. To the fullest extent permitted by law, by participating, the Participant indemnifies, releases and agrees to hold harmless Lenovo their associated, holding and subsidiary companies, and its
    directors, agents, representatives, shareholders, employees, successors and assigns from any and all claims or liability arising from participating in the experience, any experience-related activity and/or acceptance, receipt, possession or use/misuse
  12. To the extent permitted by law, Lenovo will not be liable in any way whatsoever, for any claims arising from loss, injury, damage or costs, suffered by a Participant in relation to the Create Smarter campaign , including but not limited to claims relating to defects in the prizes or any losses caused by such defects or losses arising from incorrect or inaccurate information supplied by Participants.
  13. Lenovo will not be liable for any loss suffered as a result of incomplete or incorrect information


  1. We will not give any personal contact information provided to us during this experience to any third party not associated with Lenovo the experience. Contact details provided and collected will be used solely to ensure that the competition is carried out effectively, such as
    to communicate with the winner in order to hand over their prize as well as to announce the winner on social platform Instagram.
  2. You have the right to decline permission to use your name or image in marketing material or participate in any marketing activity, however due to the nature of this experience, should you decide to do so, you will not be able to get the prize. SHOULD YOU NOT AGREE THERETO, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE EXPERIENCE.
  3. The Participant grants to Lenovo the non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable right and license to use, perform, exhibit, reproduce and/or otherwise exploit the comment, photo and/or video in any manner and in any and all distribution channels, venues or media now known or hereafter devised, without further notice or any compensation to Participant. Participant further agrees, upon Lenovo’s request and without compensation, to sign any and all necessary and appropriate documents so as to ect, perfect or record such grant of license rights.
  4. By entering, a Participant acknowledges that personal information about the Participant will be shared with Lenovo and their agents to the extent necessary to conduct the experience process and for the prize to be delivered.
  5. All personal information relating to the Participants will be used solely in accordance with the South African consumer data protection legislation and in line with the Lenovo Global Privacy Statement.
  6. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the Participant or Lenovo in terms of the consumer and data protection legislation.
